Luke's, Friday, July 4
Ella had no idea the fourth was a holiday, until the grumbling of the kitchen staff gave her a good idea.

"Give us the day off," the dishwasher demanded.

"Um. All right," Ella said, only a little nervous. If it was a holiday, there shouldn't be too many customers ... right? And most of the food wasn't that hard to cook; she could manage on her own.

Absolutely.

After the staff left, she finished the prep work and settled in behind the counter. The diner seemed very quiet.

Specials
Corn on the Cob
Grilled Bratwurst

Chilly Boulder, Friday afternoon
Karal and Jaina had agreed to do the ice cream thing before classes started, which really only left today to do it. Which was fine by her, as she was all for the distraction today. Though as she led the way in, holding the door open, she said, "You know, when I suggested this, I didn't think we were going to be here."

[For Karal, but open for all your do-you-really-need-ice-cream-HERE? needs. And Karal is totally wearing a bowler hat and monocle, really.]

Our Lady of Fandom, Friday
The dancing penguins and the choir were gone. Both Gabriel and Cat were pleased about this. The scent of coffee, fresh donuts and tuna filled the church.

Connor Safehouse, Virginia, Fourth of July Weekend
This would be epic. John had a new grill and a new smoker, freshly made from a barrel and a slew of grill-able items, including hot dogs, burgers, some steaks, some ribs, potatoes, corn, and pineapple slices. Toss in a few chairs, a picnic table, boombox, and a firepit that was grandfathered in before the HOA nuts, and enough beverages to float a dinghy, and this would be a great weekend.

Ah, bliss. He picked up the phone, dialed a number, and bam! Portalocity delivers, right to the back porch.

It would be a good weekend.

[open like an open thing! If you think you might have received an invitation, you did. Open all weekend. Running OCD free ATM due to Mun being DOA from OT*]

Your Fandom Weather Forecast for Friday July 4, 2008
It was surprisingly warm on the island today, with highs of 70 (21 c) and lows of 54 (12c). The ice in the pond had melted, and the snow on the edges had disappeared, which might just make the sudden transition to highs of 28 (-4c) and lows of 25 (-2c) once off the Causeway a bit of a shock.

FTEC - Friday day shift [4.07.08]
Igor had no idea that today was special in certain parts of the world, but he was celebrating.

His celebration was because he had successfully swapped the mind of a spider with the mind of a mouse using his oh-so-special machine. He had both with him, to observe their actions throughout the day.

The mouse kept trying to climb the walls, but it only managed to scramble up a few centimetres before sliding back down to the desk. The spider was nibbling on a bit of cheese and occasionally cleaning the whiskers that it didn't have.

The clinic might be a little bit odd today.

Front Porch, 33 Apocalypse Avenue, Friday All Day
Steve's things were mostly packed up, in three categories: 'charity,' 'leave for the other residents,' and, 'keep/sneak into my apartment.' The latter included mostly art supplies, drawings, blackmail material for Deadpool, Doctor Doom, and Iron Man, and, of course, the laptop and tablet Tony had just given him.

Now it was pretty much a matter of waiting for his ride.

((OOC: Goodbye post. If you want, assume handwavey phone calls of notification. Will probably be SP.))

Pixie Dust, Friday, July 4
Normally, Jenny celebrated the national holidays of whatever country she happened to find herself in by getting really really drunk and then finding someone to shag, but she was currently gainfully employed, a new and novel state, which meant she probably needed to show up for her shift if she wanted to remain such.

So she was at Pixie Dust, with a bottle of vodka and a shot glass on the counter in front of her to facilitate getting really really drunk at work. She could find someone to shag later. Or maybe shag a customer. That would work, too.

In addition, there was a sign on the door:

Friday evening into night: Hapag-Lloyd Hanseatic cruise ship
The cruise ship was docked at Paradise Bay, a short walk from the end of Fandom's Causeway.

The Fandomites weren't the only ones being welcomed aboard -- in addition to the pre-existing passengers, members of the various research teams and those who worked in Paradise were joining in the festivities.

Once everyone was on board, the ship headed out to cruise around the various islands, glaciers, and ice formations, to return much later that night.

[Plz wait for OCD commence cruising.]

Fourth Floor Common Room, Thursday Night
Reno was in a pretty good mood tonight, really. And so he decided that tonight was going to be the night that he named his ferret.

He just... still had no clue how to go about doing so.

That was why Reno and ferret were both plopped down on the couch in the fourth floor common room, flipping through channels on the television set. While Reno doubted that there was a program on the TV that was specifically geared toward ferret-naming, perhaps inspiration could strike at any moment.

In the meantime, there was a murder mystery on the TV. And a baby ferret trying to bury the remote under the couch cushions.

[Open, as common rooms tend to be!]

Thursday Evening, on the beach
After freshening up from his ordeal, and having a good old lazy sort of day, Sokka went off looking for one person in particular, who he needed to have a certain conversation with.

He found him on the beach. )

The Woods of Northwest USA, Thursday Night
John and Zoe's honeymoon had started like most do, with quite a bit of alone time spent indoors. But as the week progressed, and John spent more and more time overhearing the stories coming from the people in town, it seemed that their honeymoon wasn't going to be as normal as Zoe had expected.

Not that she necessarily minded stalking through the woods, searching for what John said was probably something called a wendigo - they had packed weapons in the car, after all. But she was still trying to decide if this went in the category of marital bonding.

[For the husband omg I get to use that word now eeee.]

Room 226, all day Thursday
While Isabel did her own packing upstairs, Wyatt was finishing packing in his own room. He'd already orbed a lot of stuff home, leaving the important stuff to be taken along on the road trip. He was stalling, just a bit, distracting himself by checking his email and looking up places online they might visit on their trip.

[Goodbye post -- meant to have this up much earlier, but I was traveling all day. May be SP at times because my parents will pout at me for being on the computer while I'm home. Late pings are fine. :) ]

Second floor common room, Thursday night
It was summer, it was a week without classes, and they were still in Antarctica. Yes, Brooke was still pouting. Not only that, but when she plopped herself in the common room with a blanket and popcorn to veg out, she found the Travel Channel was showing a whole lot of beach programming.

"Sure," she grumbled. "Rub salt in the wound, why don'tcha."

The Arms Hotel, #321
Savannah had come back to the hotel after work and after saying goodbye to Isabel and Wyatt -- and wow did that ever suck big time. She was sitting on the couch playing with the envelope that contained a very thick letter that she had written to Johnny on Isabel's advice.

Unfortunately, she was thinking about everything and was fighting back tears...

...mostly.

She lay her head against the back of the couch with a sigh. The last two weeks had really been very bad.

[[OOC: Open for the brother, the whitelighter, or anyone else that might be coming to see Savannah.]]

Caritas [Thursday evening]
So, camping in the Antarctic, while interesting and a once-in-a-lifetime experience, was something Robin would not be repeating. She had never missed her shower more -- not because it was an especially dirty experience, but because it was warm.

As a result, she'd decided to run a special on hot drinks tonight, and was experimenting with different things she could put in hot chocolate and coffee.

[I am running to the library REALLY QUICKLY, but I'll be back...probably before 8 EST, or right around then. Mod Tino if you need something RIGHT THIS SECOND ZOMG.]
